Hilary has worked extensively as a dramaturge for playwrights at all stages of their careers, and also mentors emerging playwrights. She has taught playwriting at a wide range of institutions and organisations – for schools, councils, writers’ groups, NIDA, and at theatre companies such as Griffin and the STC; for organisations including Writing NSW, Writers Victoria and Queensland Writers’ Centre, and in the USA at New York University, Wesleyan University, Connecticut and the University of the South, Tennessee. She has been writer-in-residence in schools, youth theatres and theatre companies.
